Coffee and vegans

My morning was spent at the French Truck roastery, sipping excellent coffee and chatting with owner Geoffrey Meeker, as he roasted to fill orders. Smack dab in the middle of our conversation, came a local gal/vegan pusher who is opening a baked fries cafe franchise. Apart from the fact that I don't get the business model of the place, nor the smarts of her intended location ( the new broadmoor development), she intends on serving coffee... with baked fries. Feverishly talking about the need for coffee shops and vegan eateries in New Orleans, it was difficult to discern where any of this plan was headed... She left. My head was spinning. I needed another cup of coffee.

And it begins...

Eight. Days. Sick. To write that I'm sick of being sick, is a wild understatement. So, in an effort to move past this ridiculous cold/cough/sinus thing, I have signed up for a detox yoga and journaling workshop at Life Yoga on Magazine Street. The class is tomorrow at 1pm, and I'm looking forward to advancing my plot. Back to Paleo eating, regular yoga, jogs in Audubon Park and lots of writing... For tonight, I stay wrapped in a Saints Snuggie, curled on the couch reading magazines and gorging on carbs. Happy New Year.... LoGau (if you're wondering, this is the nickname my pal Joannie bestowed on me)
